![]() ![]() Here though, you aren’t limited to ‘blocks’, you can drop in pedals and amps in any order, and while you’re ‘limited’ to running three amps in any one patch, you can add up to 57 different modules in your chain. At the top is the enlarged view of the amp or pedal model you have selected, here you can make your edits.īeneath that is an overview of your signal chain - laid out in a way that we’ve become familiar with via both hardware and software modellers. Upon loading, you’re met with a screen split into three sections. With the housekeeping out of the way, it’s time to talk about how it works in practice. In total, this adds-up to over 400 gear models across the board! Performance and verdict We were sent the full-fat Max version for review, which includes the same AmpliTube 5 models and features as the two paid-for versions, but you also get 11 of IK Multimedia’s official artist and brand add-on packs, including the Fender Collection 1 & 2, Orange, Mesa/Boogie, Slash, Brian May, Joe Satriani and more. If you like what you hear, you can upgrade or go a la carte with in-app purchases via the redesigned Custom shop store section of AmpliTube. It’s worth noting though, that while it doesn’t come with the full VIR cab technology or looper, CS follows the Custom Shop tradition whereby the base software is free, and comes with a decent amount of models to get you started. IK has helpfully outlined the full differences with this chart. The differences between the versions are obviously model-count and feature limitations, you get 39 gear models with CS, 77 with SE, 177 with the standard version and 416 with Max. (Image credit: IK Multimedia)ĪmpliTube 5 is available as four versions: CS, SE, ‘Standard’ and Max. ![]() I posted a thing I just played around with on my SC page in case anyone curious.Choose from industry standard mics then mic vertically, horizontally, back and forth, on-or off-axis – it's intuitive and effective. Lots of the usual stuff you would expect in that collection. My AT4 MAX gear all came across to AT5 CS just fine, and I do like the new interface better! I have even tried some guitar amps on a few virtual guitars plugins, and they sound cool, but I have no idea how to play them like a real guitarist. Much easier than trying to keep the real thing in tune, LOL. I have a real Fender P-Bass and a small Fender combo amp, so I have a modest idea of what to shoot for in the virtual bass domain. So I would only be using Amplitube to shape the tone of a virtual bass with a decent virtual amp and cabinet, which isn't that difficult compared to guitars and all the required effects and stomps. Thanks for the info! I'm not a guitar player, and only own AT4 MAX because IK decided to give it to me for free in the Total Studio MAX bundle last year. ![]() I would love to tell you that it's worth it to go to AT5SE but haven't jumped yet. I am a guitar player but use the SVX stuff for my band's bass player tracks. I also use AT5CS like you and have bought AT4 (not max) plus a few collections including both SVX in the past. To me the user interface of 5 is a big step ahead of 4. So the path for AT4MAX owner is more AT4MAX to AT5SE or AT5 if you want the new amps in there. IIRC, AT5SE was especially created for those who have all they need gear wise in AT4 and want to bring everything into the 5 environment. AT5SE is a little over a third of the price of AT5MAX. Your amps are upgraded and your cabinet are also upgraded. But in your case, buying AT5SE brings all the new feature and ALL the amps you already have with AT4MAX into the new environment. Mostly those who never have "ridden" a good "Plexi" me thinks.)įlame away folks, I let it "hang" out there, I got broad shoulders and opinions to match I guess (I'll pass on the 900 series, I know guys like 'em. Slash is built on the Silver Jubilee right? I'm more a "Plexi" guy but the Jubilee and the 2210's are great amps. (a guy wanted me to build him a cross between an Orange and an Ampeg how would I know what that would sound like, why am I asking you?.) Korg bought the name I think?, someone will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure. What's an Orange amp sound like? I would hazard a guess you don't know any better than I do. (Now Rivera's that a different story, but I digress) Never played a Mesa I felt I could live without. Randall Smith?, not a big fan (anyone who tries to patent circuitry that's been in the public domain for decades is a parasite) I don't have the May collection, but I did buy the AC30 its based on meh ![]()
